Super Aldi Bargains!

You have to go into Aldi this month! Himself is a keen cyclist, I get tired just watching him, he usually does 15-20 mile a day (he's unemployed at the minute so has got the time!) He's cycled so much in the last month or so, the poor bike has begun to fall apart!

So on needing a new back wheel, we scoured the tip!! Found a bike with a suitable wheel, paid £8 and took it home - bike mended! But what happens with you need to buy new stuff for the cycle? There's Halford's as a first choice I guess... but when we looked for the wheel it was £45 !! So Halfords is not first choice for us.

How about Aldi? Did you know they did cycles stuff? Me neither!

Today, on a little spending spree, he bought a gel saddle £3.99 !! a bike computer £12.99 and a double foot pump for only £4.99

Of course, he will be rigourously trying and testing these for your benefit, and we'll report on the site soon.

Firstly, the foot pump.....

Double Cylinder Foot Pump for just under a fiver! As a none technical female I will read from the box and tell you it has a precision analogue guage for pressure up to 10 bar, 100cm pressure hose and three adapters. Whatever that all means.

Himself likes it a lot and his bike his fully pumped up tires, as does mine, both boys bikes and even the two spare visitor bikes.... It's looks like bloomin Halfords in our garage!

The pumps main benefit is the rugged metal foot plate, Himself showed me his old pump which has sort of squished under the weight of his foot after the years of use. This one will be hard pressed to ever squish - even under a tonne truck it looks so rugged!

You know when you buy something for £4.99 and you think - this is soooo gonna not work very well? I must admit, the price made me think this - but we are both pleasantly surprised! The pump now has its own hook in the garage.

I'm hoping tomorrow's forecasted rain will stay away and he can get out on the bike to test the saddle and computer too!
