It's a rare moment that catches me spending money, well no I mean more money than I need to. But on this occasion its paid off. My usual window and glass cleaner is no more than a pound, but requires much scrubbing, rubbing and smear removal - you could say all in all a good work out!
So when someone recommended I try Ecover (at aroudn £2.50) I was yet to be convinced. However, with eco principles intact off I went to discover for myself.
Stop press - it works!!
My usual trick for window cleaning involves getting Himself to do it, whilst I oooh and ahhhh - you know, to encourage window cleaning prowess... It helps men to offer encouragement, especially in housework, they feel all macho and like they are looking after you.
So off he went with Ecover Window and Glass in one hand and only kitchen towel in the other, I thought there goes Mr Streaky!! Streaky for the smears on the window I mean - not like he was going to clean naked, blimey that would scare the neighbours!
Anyhow I digress... Himself was heard to say "This is the BEST window cleaner I have ever used!" Now he considers himself a bit of a connoisseur of all cleaning products... so this is high praise indeed!
Containing alcohol, citric acid and water as its main ingredients it kind to your hands, but also kind to nature and doesn't put lots of horrid stuff into the water system, which is nice. Would being 'eco' make it worth the extra money for me, well yes as it works so much better! If it worked just the same as our under £1 one then maybe I would need to think again.
The packaging makes you feel very tree huggy and planet saving, nice and plain, but expensive looking at the same time. It's nice to have the set of cleaning products all lined up in the cupboard.
....Ahhh did I say all the range lined up? Yes OK, when it worked SO well we went out and got other things in the range, can't wait to try them now!! Watch this space for more news!
